good papers

Everybody wants the highest grade possible when ever they do a paper, alot of things can make a differnce when you write it and it can be the diffrence between a high grade and a low grade.
some thing that are important are grammar, punctuation, and spelling. English teachers get annoyed when a paper has spelling mistakes, especially because they can be corrected with spell check. Punctuation is important, too. It is expected from us to know when a comma, period, or any other mark needs to be. Also, correct grammar is essential.
Another thing we need to follow is how the paper needs to be. The structure, the format, and all things included in the rubric. For example, most papers require a 12 inch, times new roman font. It is easier done than other requirements such as the paper being in MLA format, but it is still manageable.
Last but not least is, eek help, schools such as NEIU, offer a writing center to help with your papers. What is stopping someone from taking their papers to an experienced person who will most defiantly help you get a higher grade with his/her advice. Its available, so students should take advantage.

Literacy Narrative Topics

One of the topics i think i will write about for my literacy narrative is the research paper i did for my Eng 102 class. It would be good because I wrote it last year so its not really that old. Also i really enjoyed writing that paper because we got to pick our topics so i chose one that i knew i wasn't going to get bored of and it suited me all the way. it might not be a god idea though because like i said it has been a year. Also, the topic might not interest other people.
Another idea i was thinking about was a state story writing contest i entered when i was in the sixth grade, It was a real good experience for me and i learned a lot. I was also the hero of my school for a couple of days because i was the only one that made it. I didn't win the contest so that might hold me back on writing about it and to be honest i have no idea of what the story i wrote was.
Finally, i read on page 29 of our book that a book or other text that was significant to us in a way can be our topic. The only book that came to mind was "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien which i read in my junior year in high school. Never have i read  something so detailed, entertaining, and well put together like that book. I would choose to write about it because most people might not know it, and this way it might make them curious and look it up. No harm in that because i would recommend it. Although it has been a while since i read it and going back to review it would take time.

English 101

The reason I am taking English 101 is because it is a required class, however that does not mean that it will be a waste of time. There is a reason that NEIU requires this class to be taken and that is to become better writers at the college level. Becoming a better writer is important and the school knows that, no matter what field a person chooses to go into writing will always be a part of that. People can tell a lot about you by the way you write so its important to look professional and sophisticated rather than ignorant. I hope to become a better writer by the end of the semester and learn a lot. I plan on being more organized when it comes to ideas in an essay. Using proper English and sounding more intellectual while being more persuasive  is also something i hope to get better at as I'm sure it will be a big help to me in the future. I am a  business major so I'm sure i will be writing a lot of profiles and reports in the future.  I'm looking forward to a helpful semester into making us all better writers than when we first started, I'm sure with weekly blogs and numerous essays it will be done.
